Whakatipu rakau - Help grow the ngahere with us
Our Whakatipu Rākau Community Planting Days are open invitation to whānau, kura, businesses, and hāpori to get their hands in the ground alongside us. No experience needed. No equipment required. Every planting day includes a cultural welcome, guided planting, shared kai, and activities for tamariki of all ages.
We work alongside Kids Greening Taupō and our delivery partners to make every event safe and worthwhile. You will go home tired, fed, and connected to long-term kaupapa.
What to bring Sturdy shoes and practical clothing. Everything else is provided.
Whakatō kakano - Supporting future taiao leaders
Trees for Survival gives tamariki the experience of growing a native seedling from seed in their classroom, then planting it in the ground with their own hands. Tauhara Maunga and Tauhara Ngawhā (our geothermal planting site) becomes the permanent kainga for every tree they grow.
In partnership with Kids Greening Taupō, we offer kura and schools a site for long-term connection and restoration.
